Who We Are
Latino Leadership is a leading organization dedicated to improving the outcomes of Latinos in Central Florida, therefore positively the community as a whole.
Latino Leadership’s mission is to guarantee the welfare of our children by helping to create a model, strong, and vibrant Hispanic community through leadership development and empowerment, education advancement, and economic community development. Latino Leadership motto is “reaching out to our community through knowledge”.
Latino Leadership believes EDUCATION can break the illiteracy cycle to bring each of us closer to what our Founding Fathers intended in our unanimous Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.
“We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.”

Parent Resource Center
Parents are always going to be our students’ first teachers and they are always going to be our students’ most important teachers. – Secretary of Education Duncan
Latino Leadership has established the Latino Leadership Parent Resource Center to provide empowerment opportunities for parents in Central Florida. Through the PRC, Latino Leadership provides one-on-one counseling on school choice, parent workshops on the importance of parental involvement, and advocacy opportunities for parents in Central Florida.
The Parent Resource Center provides the following services:
- Assistance to parents in learning about, understanding and matching the program and school choices that are available in their district and in the state which can meet their child’s educational needs.
- Training and development for parents in areas that help them better understand and deal with the challenges that their children may experience in school and in learning.
- Programs for parenting skills, life skills, health and welfare skills, and more.
- Workshops, technical assistance, hands-on training, and professional growth opportunities for district administrators, public school administrators, teachers, parent and community liaisons and specialists.
- Assistance to school districts and school choice stakeholders.
- Public school choice information, resources and best practices.

Request for Services
Latino Leadership has developed an extensive referral network throughout the years. In partnership with community agencies, the organization is able to provide community resources to navigate hard times. Resources include food pantries, health providers, housing counseling, scholarships, and more!
Please call 407-895-0801 to speak with an intake specialist. A Request for Services application must be completed in order to receive assistance. When required, Latino Leadership will provide external referrals forms to clients.
Latino Leadership believes in providing a hand-up to ensure individual empowerment and success.
President’s Biography
As founding President/CEO of Latino Leadership, Inc., Marytza Sanz has worked tirelessly to improve the quality of life of families in Central Florida through the implementation of social enrichment programs that incorporate leadership development and empowerment, education advancement, and economic community development into its daily activities.
Mrs. Sanz also lends her expertise to the University of Central Florida President’s Minority Advisory Board, the Homeless Coalition and Florida Devereux boards. Marytza Sanz’s work in voter engagement and health education has received national and statewide coverage from media outlets such as CNN, Univision, Telemundo, the St. Petersburg Times, NPR News and the San Juan Star. Mrs. Sanz can be heard on her radio program, “Al Oído de la Comunidad”.
Before founding Latino Leadership, Mrs. Sanz worked for the Census Bureau and served as the Central Florida Hispanic Outreach Coordinator for the Gore/Lieberman campaign. Most recently, Marytza Sanz was appointed by Governor Charlie Crist to serve on Florida’s 2010 Statewide Complete Count Committee to ensure a comprehensive count of Florida’s population during the 2010 Census.
Currently, Marytza Sanz resides in Orlando, Florida with her wonderful husband, two daughters, son-in-laws, and two grandchildren.
